Rowan’s Law Day

The day is named in memory of Rowan Stringer, the 17-year-old rugby player whose death resulted from sustaining multiple concussions. In March 2018, the Ontario government passed concussion safety legislation known as Rowan’s Law designed to protect athletes and educate parents/guardians, coaches and officials about the dangers of head injuries.

Terry Fox Walk

On Thursday October 1st St John Paul II will be participating in it’s Annual Terry Fox Walk.  This year the celebration looks a bit different than other years. Students  will walk  as a class cohort observing physical distancing around the neighbourhood. Orange Shirt Day

The Orange Shirt Day movement started in 2013 to highlight the pain and suffering of thousands of Indigenous children who were sent to residential schools. The colour of the shirt is connected to the experience of Phyllis Webstad who was sent to Cariboo Residential School near Williams Lake, BC, in 1973.
