Cross Country Team

This year’s team is off to a ‘running’ start.  With the exception of the extremely hot days in September, students (Gr.4-8) have begun training for our Area Cross Country Meet which will be held at Bruce’s Mill on Wednesday, October 4th. Terry Fox Walk ~ Sept. 29th

The St. John Paul II community wholeheartedly endorsed the participation of our students in the Terry Fox Run/Walk on Friday, September 29th. Students gathered in the gym for prayer and a motivating video. They did a ’warm-up’ and headed out on their walk.

YR Safety Week

Across York Region, September 25th –29th was  “Safety Awareness Week”.  We practiced emergency procedures to familiarize staff and students with the  precautionary steps to take should a situation arise (i.e. warning of severe weather; an intruder; evacuation). Throughout the year, practice drills will be initiated to ensure our school community can respond appropriately in the event of an  emergency.

Change to the morning drop-off routine- Effective Tuesday, Sept.26th

York Region Police came in last week to observe and provide recommendations for a safer drop-off routine as students arrive to school between 8:05-8:20 a.m.  There is a much SAFER alternative, but it requires the cooperation of EVERYONE.
