The St. John Paul II community wholeheartedly endorsed the participation of our students in the Terry Fox Run/Walk on Friday, September 29th. Students gathered in the gym for prayer and a motivating video. They did a ’warm-up’ and headed out on their walk.

Across York Region, September 25th –29th was “Safety Awareness Week”. We practiced emergency procedures to familiarize staff and students with the precautionary steps to take should a situation arise (i.e. warning of severe weather; an intruder; evacuation). Throughout the year, practice drills will be initiated to ensure our school community can respond appropriately in the event of an emergency.
We Day 2017 was an amazing and inspiring event. We all are so happy that we were granted the opportunity to attend this one in a lifetime experience. York Region Police came in last week to observe and provide recommendations for a safer drop-off routine as students arrive to school between 8:05-8:20 a.m. There is a much SAFER alternative, but it requires the cooperation of EVERYONE.

Come out, tour our school, and visit your child’s classroom.
We ask parents to gather in the gym at 7:00 PM. Following a brief introduction of staff and a school-wide presentation, classroom teachers will be providing an overview of the curriculum and expectations for each grade.
On Tuesday, September 26th at 7:00 p.m. we will have an election to establish a new Catholic School Council for St. John Paul II CES. The members of the Catholic School Council play a vital role in the educational system of Ontario.
